APPROVED!
Our planning application has been approved. There were no objections recorded. The shop and Hub can be open from 7am till 7pm on weekdays, and from 9am till 7pm at the weekend. planapproval
NO COMMENTS
Well there were no objections to our planning application by the deadline date of 8 April, so that’s another bridge crossed.
REMEMBER WHEN?
2009 seems a long time ago, and we have a long way to go, but we will get there. We have had visits from the architect, structural engineer, post office engineer and fire safety consultant – now it’s all builders, electricians and plumbers.
PLANS
The planning application has been submitted, and the plans can be seen on the Carlisle City Council website, application number 16/0209.
MOVING ON
Lots of junk has been cleared out, and the plans for the counter and cafe service area have been finalised. The structural engineer will be visiting tomorrow, and then we will submit our application for planning permission for phase I.
GUTTED
Bob the electrician came on Sunday 24 January to make sense of, label, disconnect and generally make safe the unbelievable jungle of wiring in the shop. Then we bashed out the horrible chipboard counter, and underneath it our Treasurer found treasure indeed: £10.16 in grubby pence, some sweeties, and this little person.
GOING GOING
On Thursday 7 January the first wave of volunteers swept in and cleared away the fixtures and fittings in the area of Phase 1. Only the shop counter was left in position until the electrician could disconnect the forest of wires. Many thanks to Sue, Edna, Alan, Jacqueline and Kathy for doing this dirty work.
TINDALE SOCIAL EVENING
We held a very successful volunteer event at Tindale on 17 December, over thirty people there and loads of excellent food and wine, enthusiasm and good chat. It was clear that the volunteer posse is ready to get cracking. Then we had to wait for a safety check on the electricity before people were let loose …
