Our volunteers are an integral and valued part of the life of the Hub. They support our paid staff to deliver a cohesive and friendly service.
As a Community Benefit Society, the Hub is managed by a volunteer Committee.
Volunteering is an opportunity to meet others living in the community and to give something back or to build your CV. There are many tasks and roles required in the day to day running of the business and behind the scenes.
As a community hub in a rural location, we strive to provide volunteer opportunities to enable our community to come together as well as to prevent isolation for those members of our community less able to travel far.
Our volunteers are an integral and valued part of the life of the Hub – the business simply could not function without them. They support our paid staff to deliver a cohesive and friendly service with a smile and plenty of chat.
There are a wide range of tasks to get involved in whether it be in the shop, café, library, running and event or behind the scenes.
Volunteers will receive an induction, relevant training and ongoing support. We value your input and want you to get as much out of the experience as you give.

Volunteer Policy
The Hub is a Community Benefit Society and is managed by a volunteer Committee who provide support and leadership to paid staff and volunteers.
We are currently looking to expand our skillset of committee volunteers and are particularly seeking people with the following skills in:
- Human Resources
- IT and Data Management
- Marketing/Social Media
- Legal and Compliance
- Business experience
- Accounting
If you are looking to be involved in your local community but would rather play a more strategic role please get in touch with us at chair@hallbangatehub.org.
If you would like to be involved however do not have the time to offer, an alternative way to support the Hub is to become a shareholder.
By being a shareholder, you have the opportunity to influence the direction of the Hub and to secure its future with a social dividend. You can invest any amount you wish from £20 to £20,000.
