We are putting together a local history display for the Hub open day on 28th March – does anyone have  old photographs of the village or Farlam parish area that they could lend us for the occasion?

Hallbankgate: The Hub: The Vision Coming to the Lacy Thompson Hall, on the afternoon of 28th March. We will involve local producers, artists and the school, and there will be an historical display,  a popup café, and lots of information about the campaign so far, and the vision for the future.

It was such a positive steering group meeting on Monday, with fresh ideas and much discussion, that the shock waves are still rumbling through the airwaves. Steering Group meeting tonight – if you are still wondering what is happening, come along and find out. The Co-op is now officially a Community Asset, there  has been a structural survey, we are close to being in a position to make a bid to Scotmid, and the fundraising campaign is about to start.

We have just heard that Carlisle City Council has made the Hallbankgate Co-op a Community Asset. This means that the shop cannot be sold to anyone else for six months, giving us time to raise funds and make our offer to Scotmid.
