This week (30 October) saw the first meeting of our dementia-friendly meet up. The group, named Blossoms (and you can click here to find out why), aims to meet on a monthly basis. It offers a calm, friendly and supportive atmosphere for those with dementia and their at-home carers.
Dementia Carers Count have supported the Hub in the development of this space and will be on hand to offer advice. As the group develops we also hope to welcome other organisations and community groups that can support our families, offering advice and signposting to resources as needed.
The first meeting saw plenty of chit chat, shared experiences and questions asked and answered. We also had cake, (of course), provided by our lovely Hub volunteer, Kim.
