Hallbankgate Hub

‘Blossoms’ – our monthly coffee and chat for people living with dementia and their carers.

We’re really proud to launch our monthly ‘coffee and a chat’ sessions for people living with dementia and their carers on Monday 30 October at 1pm.

‘Blossoms’ has been created in partnership with Dementia Carers Count who have done training/awareness sessions for the Hub’s volunteer team. The aim is for the Hub to be a dementia-friendly place generally as well as the venue for Blossoms.

It’s been named in honour of Bill McLaughlan, father of long-time customer, supporter and regular, Tom. Bill called everybody Blossom to hide his inability to remember names.

We’re really hoping Blossoms will grow beyond the first meet-up on 30 October, and provide people with the chance to share experiences, or just relax a little outside of the home. We also hope to have some sessions that focus on specific areas that people find challenging, such as benefits. And, depending on demand, it might even become more than monthly.

If this sounds of interest, just drop a message to Tom (daruma3@gmail.com) or let us know at the Hub. Don’t worry – there is no commitment to come along, we just need to plan for numbers.

We look forward to seeing you there.
